EXPERIMENTAL EVIDENCE OF PLANE WAVE ROCKING CURVE OSCILLATIONS

摘要
A double crystal spectrometer is used to obtain a nearly planar incident wave on a thin silicon crystal. A theoretical study of the experimental arrangement has been made and it is shown that the same oscillations should occur in the rocking curves as predicted by the dynamical theory for an incident plane wave. The oscillations have been observed using crystals of several thicknesses and several wavelengths. The position of the fringes are in very good agreement with theory and their contrast is quite good.
