摘要
Er3+-doped single-polarisation optical fibres have been designed and fabricated, for the first time. The fabricated single-polarisation optical fibres transmitted only the xpolarisation mode in the wavelength region around 1-535 /an. The pump power wavelength was 1-48 faa and the pump power was about 29 mW. The x-polarisation mode has been amplified with a net gain of 14 dB for a fibre length of 27 m. © 1990, The Institution of Electrical Engineers. All rights reserved.
