摘要
The adsorption behavior of ammonia on Pd/gamma-Al2O3 was studied in order to understand the mechanism of pyridine synthesis from tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol. Through the thermal desorption of ammonia, the exchange reaction of ammonia and deuterium, the decomposition of ammonia in a mass spectroscopy-temperature-programmed desorption unit, and an IR study, it was found that ammonia was mainly dissociatively adsorbed on Pd/gamma-Al2O3 in the form of NH2 at the optimum range of 300-350-degrees-C for pyridine formation. The effect of the interaction between palladium and gamma-alumina on ammonia adsorption was intensively discussed from the viewpoint of charge transfer.
