ABSOLUTE DETERMINATIONS OF ACTIVATION CROSS-SECTIONS FOR 14.7 AND 14.8 MEV NEUTRONS

摘要
Absolute activation cross-section have been measured for the reactions, 63Cu(n,2n)62Cu, 65Cu(n,2n)64Cu, 92Mo(n,2n)91gMo and 27Al(n,α)24Na. Neutrons of average energy 14·7 MeV and 14·8 MeV were obtained from the T(d,n)4 He reaction using low-energy accelerators. The results obtained were: {A table is presented}. These results are compared with measurements of other authors. The statistical model of the nucleus and evaporation theory have been used to calculate the reaction cross-sections and their dependence on the energy of the incident neutron, taking into account the spins and angular momenta involved. Good agreement has been found between the theoretical and experimental values. © 1969.
