OBSERVATION OF A PHONON-INJECTION-INDUCED 1ST-ORDER TRANSITION IN AG-SN PROXIMITY-EFFECT BRIDGES

摘要
A steady-state heater phonon pumping into long superconducting Ag-Sn proximity-effect bridges evaporated onto thin-film underlays of germanium induces a first-order transition to the normal state at bath temperatures below T. A careful consideration of various possible mechanisms reveals that the observed phenomenon could be mostly due to phonon-injection-induced nonequilibrium effects in these bridges. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
