摘要
Minimum entropy production is generally considered a leading criterion for an effective operation of a latent heat thermal storage system. In the present study this approach is discussed and criticized on the basis of a second law analysis. A different figure of merit is suggested; a numerical study is conducted to indicate the guidelines for the optimum design of the storage element.
