THE THEORY OF CRYOCHEMICAL REACTION-RATES IN THE LEGGETT FORMALISM

摘要
The transition probability w in two symmetrical double-well potentials (Q2 - 2 |Q| and Q4 - 2Q2) is found by the path-integral method for tunnelling symmetrically coupled with a q vibration (q|Q| and qQ2 for the above-mentioned potentials, respectively) for arbitrary values of the tunnelling time τ and vibration frequency Ωp. The dependences of w on temperature and particle mass μ0 are found which explain the low values of cross-over temperatures experimentally observed in solid-phase cryochemical reactions (as compared with ℏ/τ and quite weak decrease of w with the rise μ0 (weaker than -ln w ∝ μ 1 20). © 1990.
