摘要
The association phenomenon of carboxyl groups in crosslinked polyacrylic acid (ion exchange resin Zerolit 236) has been studied by means of infrared spectroscopy. The infrared spectra of acrylic and propionic acids and the Raman spectra of the same acids and their aqueous solutions have also been recorded. The[Figure not available: see fulltext.] stretching vibration region has been utilized in the study of both the low molecular acids and the crosslinked polyacid. The results of the investigations indicate a rather complex process of association of carboxyl groups in almost dry and slightly hydrated polyacid. In Zerolit 236 there are different hydrogen-bonded structures, involving only carboxyl groups or carboxyl groups and water molecules. © 1979 Dr. Dietrich Steinkopff Verlag.
