摘要
An increased catabolism of exogenous norepinephrine was observed in the brains of rats subjected either to total sleep deprivation or to close confinement on flower pots without abolition of paradoxical sleep. This suggested that the observed metabolic change was not a consequence of paradoxical sleep deprivation and it seemed possible that stress reactions were occuring. This hypothesis was tested by examining adrenal gland weights and plasma corticosterone levels. © 1969.
