摘要
Described the rationale and development of a questionnaire designed to assess the role relations of graduate students. Scales organized around a theoretical description of the relations of graduate students with other students, faculty, and others were developed. A factor analysis of these scales extracted 5 factors: peer interaction in support of academic values, reflecting the social reinforcement student groups provide for commitment to the field; tension, dealing with students' feelings of satisfaction and stress; academic diffculty, dealing with rigor of academic standards; conflict and lack of clarity, reflecting the ambiguity and contradictions in faculty expectations; and warm faculty-student relations.
