摘要
Third-order optical nonlinear susceptibility chi((3)) of LiX-Li2O-TeO2 and AgX-Ag2O-TeO2 (X=Cl, Br, I) glasses was measured by third harmonic generation method, and the influence of halide ions on chi((3)) was examined. The chi((3)) values were relatively high as 3-5 x 10(-13) esu for Li-system glasses and similar to 10(-12) esu for Ag-system glasses. The hyperpolarizability of monovalent cation increased with increasing the polarizability of cation (Ag+>Li+) and that of the anion increased with anion radius (O2-<Cl-<Br-<I-).
