INTENSITIES OF EU3+ FLUORESCENCE AND ABSORPTION SPECTRA

摘要
Intensities of a number of electronic transitions of Eu3+ in solids are investigated within the framework of the usual theory of electric and magnetic dipole transition probabilities. It is found that variation in the free-ion" part of the electronic structure of the ion is unlikely to have significant repercussions on the changes of transition probabilities among different host lattices. The theoretical explanation of intensity variations must therefore be sought in the odd-order crystal-field parameters."
