摘要
Rapid techniques, based on grinding ryegrass [Lolium rigidum] seedheads and extracting nematodes with a Baermann funnel, were developed to isolate A. funesta the nematode involved in annual ryegrass toxicity [and sheep and cattle mortality]. Data on more than 500 samples showed that nematode distribution was more widespread than that of toxic pastures. [The nematode serves as a vector for a Corynebacterium sp. which is also involved in the toxicity.].
