摘要
An X-ray fluorescence technique is described to determine the minor and trace elements in geological samples. Satisfactory calculation of the mass absorption coefficients at the specific analytical wavelength of the elements of interest is possible, if the major constituents of the samples are known. Accordingly, using the two disc method [1], or any other method, the major composition of the geological samples is determined. From the composition of the sample the mass absorption coefficients at specific wavelengths are calculated and analytical values determined. The technique is illustrated for the elements Ba, K, Ti, Ni, and P, using minimum dilution. © 1968.
