摘要
Viable counts of anaerobic bacteria increased distally from the right to left regions of the human colon. A wide variety of cell-bound glycosidases were detected in the bowel and their specific activities were generally greater in the right colon. High levels of enzymes associated with the degradation of endogenously produced glycoproteins were found throughout the large intestine without significant regional differences.
