摘要
A total of 104 surficial soil samples, taken in 19 transects along the Oiartzun river, were analysed for pH, organic matter, nutrients (P and K) and total and extractable (0.05M, CaCl2) cadmium, lead, manganese and zinc. Results show a widespread metal pollution (Pb: 65-1070 mg kg-1; Zn: 140-8870 mg kg-1), the most contaminated sites being placed near the river. This is attributed to mining waste carried away by river water. Polluted alluvial soils are used for vegetable growing after the pH is raised by liming.
