摘要
A mathematical formula was deduced for the retention index as a function of the composition of a binary stationary phase mixture. The complicated logarithmic equation with 6 parameters was reduced into a quite simple three parameter fractional function which is capable of giving a fair approximation of retention indices on a mixed stationary phase with an average error not higher than the usual inter laboratory reproducibility of the retention indices (i.e., about 5 index units). © 1979 Oxford University Press.
