QUASIPARTICLE INTERACTION INDUCED DAMPING OF LOW-ENERGY OPTICAL PLASMONS IN HEAVY-FERMION SYSTEMS

摘要
Low-frequency optical plasmons at small wave vectors in the normal state of heavy-fermion systems are discussed. Using 1/N theory and Mori-Zwanzig projection technique, we show that quasiparticle interactions lead to a strong broadening of the plasmon linewidths. Special emphasis is put on the damping of these excitations due to quasiparticle interactions. The latter represent the deviations of the exact Anderson Hamiltonian from its mean field solution.
