摘要
Two landmark approaches to modeling microbial growth were studied. A synthesis of features of both approaches is shown to be a refinement of each one, and is recommended as a paradigm for furture analyses. Analysis of the Gompertz and logistic models finds additional reasons to prefer the Gompertz. Corrections are shown to formulas for the maximum upturn and downturn of the Gompertz model. © 1991 Academic Press Limited.
