CORE-PARTICLE INTERACTION FRAGMENTATION OF SINGLE-PARTICLE LEVELS IN 41CA AND 41SC

The negative parity spectra of 41Ca and 41Sc are calculated using a simple phenomenological model in which a single nucleon in the 2plf shell is coupled to the ground state and first rotational band in 40Ca The results are surprisingly good, the simplicity of the model taken into account. In particular, the observed fragmentation of the 2plf single-particle levels is quite nicely reproduced, and good agreement is also obtained for the E2 transition rates. © 1969.
