摘要
1. The possible effects of the inclusion of 'tourist' species have been the cause of some concern in investigations of interspecific relationships between abundance and body size. 2. Data for adult beetles (Coleoptera) from oak trees in Britain are used to investigate the relationship of abundance to body size when tourists are and are not included. 3. For this particular assemblage, tourists do not fundamentally alter the basic statistics of the relationship between abundance and body size. However, they are not a random sample of the beetle assemblage. They have lower abundances and are also of smaller body size than other species.
