A count of relatives indicates the size of the extended family group. However, the number considered to be close relatives appears to be very small, as is the circle of close friends. The small number does not prevent the family, particularly the nuclear family, from giving efficient support in times of need. However, such supports must not blind us to the other aspects of family life, which can lead to problems, troubles, conflicts and feuds.
