MODEL CALCULATION FOR BOND DISORDER-INDUCED ELECTRONIC STATES OF CONJUGATED POLYMERS

摘要
We study analytically the influence of bond impurities on the electronic states of a conjugated polymer chain. We start from the uniformly dimerized ground state of the discrete Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model and distort two neighbouring bonds. In our calculation the two bonds can be modified independently. As an effect of these bond impurities we find localized electronic states in the bandgap and beyond the bands of the unperturbed system depending on the kind of the considered bond distortions.
