AN OPTICAL FDM-ADD DROP MULTIPLEXING RING NETWORK UTILIZING FIBER FABRY-PEROT FILTERS AND OPTICAL CIRCULATORS

摘要
An optical ring network based on optical frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and add/drop multiplexers (ADM's) that employ a fiber Fabry-Perot (FFP) filters and optical circulators is proposed for a logical star network. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed OFDM-ADM ring network, 100 GHz spaced, three-channel IM-DD transmission is demonstrated at the bit rate of 622 Mb/s. Taking interchannel crosstalk into account, maximum number of nodes is estimated to be 30 if the FFP filters have a finesse of 100.
