SOME ASPECTS OF OPTICAL NONLINEARITY IN A NEW CLASS OF CONJUGATED MOLECULES

We have measured second order optical nonlinearity in a number of conjugated organic molecules. The experimental technique consisted in the detecting o The results show that the important requirement for a good donor is the existence of a filled pz orbital, that an increase in the second order hype that the sulfur atoms can perturb very efficiently the π-electron system of a hydrocarbon.
