CORRELATIONS OF WATER-CONTENT AND THERMAL-STABILITY WITH EQUALIZED ELECTRONEGATIVITY AND CHEMICAL HARDNESS OF ZEOLITES

摘要
Hydrophilicity (defined as the water content) of 43 zeolites is estimated with an accuracy of 15.2% using the aluminum fraction (X(1)) and the void fraction (X(2)) as the inputs. The water content due to the aluminum fraction (0.1213 chi(1)) derived from the equation is then correlated by means of the equalized electronegativity (chi(eq)) of 57 zeolites with an overall deviation of 7.1%. The charges on framework aluminum and oxygen derived from the equalized electronegativity method for various zeolites are correlated to the aluminum fraction. An attempt has been made, for the first time, to correlate the equalized chemical hardness of zeolites with the aluminum fraction. The thermal stability of various zeolites has been estimated from the equalized chemical hardness, framework density,and void fraction.
