STATIC AND DYNAMIC CONDUCTIVITY OF LATERAL SUPERLATTICES

摘要
The low- and high-frequency magnetotransport properties of voltage-tunable lateral superlattices on GaAs heterostructures are investigated. For weak potential modulation oscillations in the magnetoresistance are observed that reflect the commensurability between the cyclotron diameter and the superlattice period. In anti-dot arrays magnetic field induced localization of electrons around the anti-dots leads to a pronounced resistance maximum when the cyclotron diameter equals the superlattice period. A classical single particle model of ballistic electron motion through the superlattice potential is introduced that accounts well for the experimentally observed magnetotransport features. This model is also able to explain many essential features of the high-frequency response of dot and anti-dot lattices.
