摘要
The increasing use of anisotropic materials, such as fiber-reinforced composites, generates a need for new techniques for analyzing directional microstructures quantitatively. Along these lines, a new method has recently been developed for measuring the surface area per unit volume of internal surfaces of opaque bodies. This article presents a description of the technique and an analysis of certain statistical considerations associated with the sampling procedure.
