IMPURITY PINNING IN 1, 2, AND 3 DIMENSIONS IN INCOMMENSURATE MODULATED LATTICES

摘要
Applying methods used by Economou and Cohen in the study of Anderson localization in impure lattices to the study of the impure discrete sine-Gordon chain, we have extended to two and three dimensions the results of Fukuyama and Lee on impurity pinning in one-dimensional lattices containing charge-density waves. Our results are also applicable to other systems with two incommensurate periods such as mercury chain compounds, superionic conductors, lubricating thin films, etc. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
