Sintered pairs of MTS-6s, MTS-7s is ((LiF)-Li-6/7:Mg,Ti) two-layer and 0.04 cm thick MTS-6t, and MTS-7t detectors for personal or environmental albedo dosimetry in mixed neutron-gamma fields, were developed and manufactured at the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) in Krakow, Poland (commercially available from TLD Niewiadomski & Co., Krakow, Poland). The dosimetric properties of these detectors were compared with those of standard 0.09 cm thick TLD-600/TLD-700 pairs and with highly sensitive 0.05 cm thick GR-206 and GR-207 ((LiF)-Li-6/7:Mg,Cu,P), both available from Bicron Harshaw (BH). The relative neutron-to-gamma response ratio, R(n7), for MTS-6s and MTS-6t detectors irradiated by moderated neutrons from a Cf-252 source and by Cs-137 photons and read out with the Automatic Alnor Dosacus system, is about 2 times higher than that of standard 0.09 cm thick TLD-600 chips. The relative photon responses, R(i), of highly sensitive GR-206 and GR-207 detectors was about 5 times higher than that of TLD-600, but due to the lower sensitivity of the (LiF)-Li-6:Mg,Cu,P material to high LET radiations, the respective value of R(n7) was only 0.45.
