The Thomas-Fermi-based quotidian equation of state model has been modified to include new options: (1) solid-solid phase transitions; (2) arbitrary Gruneisen gamma function input; (3) soft-sphere model for the critical point and liquid-vapor region; and (4) diatomic molecular dissociation. The new model is fitted to experimental shock Hugoniot, isothermal, and critical point data to illustrate its flexibility. The limitations of the Thomas-Fenni model and the possibility of further physics improvements in global equation of state models are discussed.
