Approach of F. C. Frischknecht (1967) is extended to examine the charabteristics of a particular time-domain EM system, the Barringer Mark V Input system. Approach is first directed toward understanding the characteristics of a time-domain EM system so presents detailed mathematical development. Secondly results intended to be useful in the reduction of field data are presented. Method of obtaining apparent resistivity data from the channel ratios is presented and the problem of quantitatively assessing the effects of conductive overburden is discussed.
