PHENOMENA OF PLANAR (BIAXIAL) STRESS RELAXATION IN ELECTRODEPOSITED ZINC

摘要
The residual stress variation in electrodeposited zinc after switching the plating current off has been analysed in terms of activation volume. Its dependence on the effective stress has been found to be very similar to that found previously by studying uniaxial stress relaxation. However, the values of activation volume are smaller than those determined previously. Possible reasons for the observed discrepancies are discussed, one of which is the existence of planar (biaxial) stress in electrodeposits. © 1978.
