BEHAVIORAL MEASURES OF STEREOPSIS IN MONKEYS USING RANDOM DOT STEREOGRAMS

摘要
Stereopsis in rhesus monkeys has been investigated by a behavioral method which is based on a two alternative-forced choice form discrimination task. The discrimination stimuli were produced in static random dot stereograms so that reliable discrimination could occur only if the disparity creating the form was above the animal's stereo-threshold. The disparity discrimination functions for all six animals showed chance rates for zero disparity stimuli and an increasing discrimination rate for disparities between 6 and 30 min of arc. Four of the six animals also showed better discrimination for crossed disparities than uncrossed disparities. © 1979.
