摘要
The crystallization of an amorphous alloy with the composition Ti2Ni in the temperature range 350-415-degrees-C was studied by calorimetry and electron microscopy. The transformation to the crystalline phase Ti2Ni is a polymorphic reaction with homogeneous, transient nucleation and a constant growth rate. By analyzing the number of particles per unit volume and the crystallite size distribution in the heat-treated specimens the incubation times, the steady-state nucleation rates and the growth rates were determined at different temperatures, and the temperature dependence was used to find the relevant activation energies.
