EFFECTS OF ADDITIVES TO PT/AL2O3 ON CATALYTIC DECOMPOSITION OF NO

摘要
Catalytic decomposition of NO to N2 and O2 was performed over Pt/Al2O3 which was modified by various additives. The addition of Tb oxide enhanced the activity by a factor of 4, while K, P and Au decreased the activity. XRD and TEM observations revealed that Pt particles on Pt/Al2O3 and Tb-added Pt/Al2O3 grew into large crystallites in a similar way during the reaction. Oxygen spillover from Pt to Tb oxide probably accelerated the desorption of oxygen from the catalyst.
