DOMAIN-STRUCTURE IN THE REENTRANT FEXZR100-X AMORPHOUS RIBBONS

The domain structure in amorphous ribbons of FexZr 100-x is investigated by Lorentz transmission electron microscopy in the temperature range 18-290 K. The domains appear approximately at the ferromagnetic transition temperature Tc determined by conventional magnetic measurements. Their dimensions (10-50 μm) and shapes stay unchanged whatever the temperature (T<Tc), particularly upon cooling through the reentrant transition. The physical factors limiting the observation of the magnetic structure are also discussed.
