Spectra of Ni2+ ions in synthetic zeolites (Type A Linde Molecular Sieves) have been measured and interpreted. There are three distinct complexes according to the degree of hydration, namely the hexaquocomplex in fully hydrated zeolite, monoaquocomplex in partially hydrated zeolite, and Ni2+ ions placed in hexagonal windows of alumosilicate network in dehydrated zeolite. The latter has been interpreted in terms of the theory developed in Part I. Spectra of complexes with adsorbed cyclopropane and ethylene are described and their tentative structure is given. © 1968.
