摘要
This paper presents a number of ideas and extensions to existing approaches to problems associated with the analysis and design of tropical slopes. The fundamental theme has been the incorporation of hydrology, both directly and indirectly, into geotechnical practices in such a way that the dominant processes are considered. This is of particular importance when considering the dynamic effect of storm responses on the effective stress conditions. The product of such an approach will hopefully lead to a better understanding of slope instability processes (and hence slope design), especially in tropical areas. © 1991 Sage Publications.
