摘要：

A report is presented of a survey conducted among the people living in the Lahaul and Spiti district, a remote and isolated area in the upper Himalayas, 10,000 to 12,000 feet above sea level. The geography of the country and customs and mode of living of the people are discussed. The results of the survey are analyzed in six tables, emphasizing visual acuity, incidence of blindness, type and cause of blindness (etiologic and topographic), and the percentage of curable blindness. © 1968.
