Further experiments are described to test the elastic floc model for the flow behavior of coagulated colloidal sols. Data for poly(methyl methacrylate) latices dispersed in mixtures of glycerol and water enable an evaluation of the effect of the viscosity of the suspension medium on the flow behavior. The ζ-potential of the particles was varied by adsorption of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and all experiments were done at constant ionic strength using KBr as indifferent electrolyte. The results lend further support to the elastic floc model and confirm the importance of the ζ-potential in determining the behavior of these systems. © 1979.
