摘要
A method has been developed for the quantitative determination of caffeic acid moieties in tobacco by gas-liquid chromatography. Caffeic acid esters are precipitated with lead acetate, recovered, and subjected to a transesterification reaction to produce the n-butyl ester of caffeic acid. After silylation of the n-butyl ester of caffeic acid the derivative, bis (trimethylsilyl) caffeoyl n-butyrate, is suitable for gas chromatography on 12% SE-30. Anthracene and pyrene were used as internal standards. Results for chlorogenic acid in tobacco samples obtained by a paper chromatographic-spectrophotometric method are comparable with results obtained by gas chromatography. © 1969.
