Groups of 5th grade Ss were counseled for 10 biweekly sessions under conditions of either high or low counselor credibility. Weekly measures of Ss' perceptions of the counselor were obtained, and analyses of trend procedures were applied to the scores. Results indicate that (1) differences can be produced in the perceived credibility of the counselor, (2) counseling interaction results in changes in the perceived credibility of the counselor, and (3) these changes occur at the same rate and in the same direction under varied source credibility.
