N-ACETYL- AND N,O-DIACETYLNEURAMINIC ACIDS IN A SIALOGLYCOPEPTIDE FROM NORMAL HUMAN URINE

摘要
A sialoglycopeptide, soluble in 50% ethanol, was obtained by Sephadex G-25, CM-cellulose and DEAE-Sephadex A-50 filtration. Its total amount of carbohydrates is 50%. It contains: hexoses (chiefly galactose, and in a less amount glucose and mannose), 16.3% (dry weight); hexosamines (glucosamine and galactosamine, in similar amounts), 10.2%; fucose, 5.2%. The sialic acid (17.7%) is mainly N-acetyl-neuraminic acid (NANA), but a neuraminic derivative, the RF of which corresponds to that of N-acetyl-4-O-acetylneuramimc acid-not previously reported in man-has also been detected, in a small amount. The following amino acids were found, in decreasing order of concentration: Thre, Glu, Asp, Ser, Pro, Gly and Ala; Val, Leu, lieu, Met and Arg were also detected. © 1969.
