摘要
In this paper linkups between imprecision and infinity in an optimization framework are highlighted. Inspired by these connections, the new potential opened up by semi-infinite optimization is gainfully exploited to push forward an approach for solving a fuzzy mathematical program. Issues regarding the viability of the approach as well as the satisfying character of solutions yielded by this way are also addressed. Furthermore, we present a cutting plane method for solving the resulting semi-infinite program. We end up by some concluding remarks and indicate directions for further developments.
