摘要
The heating of green wood involves a complex set of deformation processes. In addition to the reversible thermal strain characterized by a negative expansion coefficient below the softening temperature of lignin, the material recovers locked-in strains due to wood being formed under stress. The resulting tangential expansion, together with a smaller radial contraction, is responsible for the opening of heart checks by log steaming. A separation of the strain components has been attempted in the case of Jujube tree wood (Ziziphus lotus L Lam), based on the simultaneous measurement of the radial and tangential thermal strain for several types of heating modes, in particular to provide an interpretation of the transient decrease of the tangential recovery observed during the first heating.
