PREPARATION OF HIGH-TC (110K) BI-SR-CA-CU-O SUPERCONDUCTORS FROM AMORPHOUS FILMS BY RAPID QUENCHING AFTER RAPID MELTING

摘要
The authors report the rapid quenching after rapid melting (RQRM method) of Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox and crystallization of the high-Tc (110 K) phase from the amorphous film. The film was heated under various conditions and examined by thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and measurement of resistivity. The film consists of an amorphous phase showing haloes at 2θ = 20, 30 and 50°. A small amount of CaO crystallized in the sample. Reheating yielded polycrystalline products. The film specimen reheated at 1153 K in air for 1 h showed metallic conduction at room temperature and a two-step superconducting transition at 111 and 90 K. Longer periods or higher temperatures in reheating did not result in the formation of the pure high-Tc (110 K) phase.
