A NEW STRUCTURAL FORM FOR A PENTAOXYPHOSPHORANE - DIEQUATORIAL RING FORMATION IN A TRIGONAL BIPYRAMID

摘要
The addition of a diol to the phosphite P(OCH2CF3)3 resulted in the formation of a pentaoxyphosphorane containing an eight-membered ring. X-ray analysis revealed the first cyclic derivative of this class with the ring located in diequatorial positions of a trigonal bipyramid. Previously, X-ray analysis showed all previous cyclic pentaoxyphosphoranes with rings situated at axial-equatorial sites. F-19 NMR data indicate that the solid-state structure is retained in solution.
