摘要
A few recent experimental investigations have focused on the satellite-drop behavior, and these results are presented. Then the nonlinear perturbation analyses of the jet are discussed. These analyses consider an infinite jet at rest and investigate the temporal growth of spatially harmonic, initially imposed disturbances. Rayleigh's linear solution represents the first perturbation in this case. Next some results based on one-dimensional jet theories are presented for the infinite-jet problem. Then investigations of the jet-nozzle problem (i. e. the real problem of a jet emanating from a nozzle) based on three-dimensional and one-dimensional theories are discussed. Finally a direct computational analysis is reviewed.
