摘要
Powders from Fe-16Cr-8Mo-18C-4B and Fe-16Cr-8Mo-18C-4V (at.%) which have been produced by high pressure helium atomization are mainly amorphous below 25-mu-m diameter. These powders have been consolidated to full density by uniaxial hot pressing at 1080-degrees-C. The alloys crystallize during consolidation and form structures with finely dispersed carbides and borides in martensite or ferrite matrices. The consolidated alloys show high hardnesses at room temperature (900-1250 DPN) and elevated temperatures (600-950 DPN at 600-degrees-C). The alloys are heat treatable; soft annealing reduces the hardness but improves ductility. Bend fracture values of annealed alloys range between 250 MPa and 1414 MPa. The alloys have a potential for practical use as heat-resistant tool or wear materials.
